A life coach and a life mentor are two very different people.
Both individuals can serve a similar purpose: to help you navigate life's challenges and be in a position to continually improve yourself.
But, they serve very different roles and can add value in different ways. So this begs the question,
What is the difference between a Life Coach and Mentor?
One of the most famous examples of a life coach is
Tony Robbins.
Tony Robbins is known around the world for being a motivational speaker. The view of life coaching is similar to working with a sports coach to improve game performance. The idea is that you need an objective perspective combined with the experience of a coach in order to be successful in life.

is able to provide valuable knowledge and experience that can help you throughout your journey.
A life mentor plays a slightly different role because they relay life experiences and relate them to your challenges and path. Life mentors are people who have taken a similar path to what you aspire to and offer the chance for you to learn from their experiences and accomplishments. The aim of working with a mentor is to take their experiences and apply them to your own life.
Mentors help you figure out a general direction for your life, while coaches ensure that you're making progress in the right direction.
In a sports team analogy, a coach is a person sitting on the sidelines and observing the behaviors of the team. The coach advises you on what skills you can improve on now in order to improve your sports outcome. A
mentor

The coach and the mentor will both give you advice during practice or after the game, but the coach is more likely to be observing your behaviors and give you advice in the middle of the game.

Some people will respond better to a mentor, while others will respond better to a coach. Both are equally valuable to your success. Think about your goals and how you plan to achieve them.
In many cases, coaches and mentors serve a single purpose.
