Well its been way too long since my last post and I truly apologize. I could give you a handful of excuses but I’m not one to externalize and well, I don’t think anyone would really care. (insert sound bite of world’s smallest violin here ;-)
So after about 2 months of doing sporadic workouts, the occasional Grouse Grind and a few hot yoga sessions, I’m back to doing some Crossfit WOD variations. I say variations as my back went out again about 3 weeks ago and I lost a whack of momentum because of it (oops, there goes that externalization thing again… sorry). So tonight I just created my own variation of a Crossfit classic. I dub it “Moose Breathe”
Warm-up:
5,000 m row on the Concept 2 rower (my time was 19:30 – almost 2 minutes of my personal best… ouch!)
“Moose Breathe” Work out
3 Rounds of the following;
- 1 minute of 135lbs Dead-lifts,
- 1 minute of push-ups;
- 1 minute of ab mat sit-ups;
- 1 minute of double-unders;
- 1 minute rest.
Scoring the workout is simple. Each rep = 1 point.
My results:
- Dead-lifts = 21/22/22
- Push-ups = 31/30/30
- Sit-ups = 39/41/40
- Double-unders = 30/42/40
Total points scored was 388!
I thought I could break 400, but clearly a couple months off does wonders to the endurance… ahhh, sorry I did it again.
Will blog tomorrow after working out with Jamie and Michelle Fiddler at Crossfit Renegade’s grand opening event. Read more about it here.
